About Saint Seraphim of Sarov
Saint Seraphim of Sarov (†1833) spent decades in silence and prayer in the forests near Sarov before opening his door to thousands of visitors. He greeted each of them as 'my joy' and is remembered for teaching that the aim of Christian life is the acquisition of the Holy Spirit.
