Saint Stephen the First Martyr

Saint Stephen the First Martyr (d. c. 34 AD) was one of the seven deacons appointed by the Apostles and the first Christian to die for the faith. Full of grace and power, he performed great wonders among the people and boldly proclaimed Christ before the Sanhedrin. Stoned to death outside Jerusalem, he prayed for his persecutors as he died, mirroring the prayer of Christ on the Cross. His feast day is celebrated on December 27. Our handcrafted collection honors his memory through Byzantine embroidered icons and devotional items, each made in our Ohio workshop using traditional techniques.
