Collection: Saint Sisoes the Great
Saint Sisoes the Great was a renowned Desert Father who lived as an ascetic in the Egyptian desert, particularly in the cave of Saint Anthony the Great. Known for his deep humility and spiritual wisdom, he spent decades in strict asceticism, weeping for his sins and striving for purity of heart. When asked if he had reached the level of Anthony, he replied that he had not even begun. His famous encounter with the bones of Alexander the Great — reminding him of the fleeting nature of earthly glory — is one of the most powerful moments in Orthodox hagiography. Venerated across the Eastern Church, his feast is celebrated on July 6th. Explore our handcrafted embroidered pocket icons honoring this humble desert father.
